Brett joined Towle & Co. in May 2025, having known the firm since his time in college when he had the opportunity to learn investing from Woody Towle. Brett is Head of Capital Formation and responsible for partnering with existing and prospective clients for Towle's investment strategies.
Prior to joining Towle & Co., Brett was Chief Operating Officer and Chair of the Investment Portfolio Committee for Artisan Partners Global Equity team. He also spent time as an MD at Quantum Capital Management after starting his career at Callan Associates in a handful of roles. Brett's career arc has focused on partnering with elite investment talent.
Brett graduated from Principia College with BA degrees in Business Administration and Sports Management and a minor in Economics. He was an Academic All-American in Tennis. Brett holds the distinction of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and Financial Risk Manager (FRM®).
He lives in San Francisco with his wife Michelle, their sons Hayden and Mackenzie, and a lovable but vocal bernadoodle named Jake.

To earn the designation, candidates must pass three course exams, each requiring approximately 250 hours of self-study, and have completed four years of qualifying work experience. Chartered Financial Analyst® and CFA® are registered trademarks owned by the CFA Institute. FRM® is an accreditation offered by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) that certifies the understanding of risk management concepts that are validated by international professional standards. To earn the accreditation, candidates must pass two levels of exams, requiring on average about 240 hours of self-study, and have completed two years of qualifying work experience in the field of financial risk management.
